1. What this service does

Nishan (نیشان) shows you the public information your internet connection broadcasts — your IP address, approximate location, and network — and lets you look up other IP addresses.

2. IP addresses & request logging

When you visit Nishan or use the lookup feature, your IP address is processed to determine geolocation. To operate and protect the service, each lookup is logged to our database, including: the caller's IP address, the IP that was looked up, your browser's user-agent string, a timestamp, and the geolocation record returned. We do not sell this data or use it to build advertising profiles.

3. Geolocation data

Location and network data is derived from the DB-IP IP geolocation databases. This data is approximate and provided for informational purposes only — it may not reflect your exact location.

4. Cookies & local storage

Nishan does not use tracking cookies. The only thing we store in your browser is your theme preference (light or dark) in localStorage under the key nishan-theme. It never leaves your device.

5. Analytics & third parties

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of serving those font files. We do not run additional third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

6. Rate limiting

To keep the service available, requests are rate limited per IP address (see our Terms of Service). Counters are kept only temporarily in server memory and reset automatically.

7. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
